SPECIFICATION

 

Mixing Lemon juices with warm water produces an anti-bacterial mouthwash. Great for when you have a sore throat. Also, each Lemon tree can produce between up to 500lbs of Lemons per year, as they grow year round.

 

Size Requirements for Lemons

 

Lemons have a minimum diameter of 45mm. They are graded 0 – 7 and the sizes vary between grades.

 

Common Quality Defects Found in Lemons

 

We break quality defects typically into major and minor categories, with no tolerance recommended for the former, and a small tolerance recommended in the latter. This would typically be in the region of 5% – 10% of a pack by either weight or count.

 

Lemon: Major Quality Defects

 

  • Mould, Rots or Breakdown
  • Pest Damage, Infestation or Foreign Bodies

 

Lemon: Minor Quality Defects

 

  • Sizes outside of the stated grade (see above)
  • Skin defects not affecting the life of the product (scarring/russets, less that 1cm square)
  • Some greening, not affecting more than 5% of the fruit.

 

Storage Temperatures for Lemons

 

Lemons are best stored between 11°C and 13°C

 

Available Packaging:

Packaged either loose in cardboard boxes, loose in clear plastic bags or over-wrapped trays.
